CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2014 (and 2015) Jeep Grand Cherokee have a serious defect trend of transmission complaints. Most of the complaints are for rough shifting — things like jerking & hesitation when shifting gears.
The uconnect screen froze and I couldn't change anything associated to it. The volume on the steering wheel was still working. It remained this way until the car was turned off for 15 minutes.
My Uconnect system reboots itself almost daily. At times, the system will freeze and I'll have no access to change the volume, climate, or any other Uconnect based controls.
I have been having this problem since I purchased the car in 2015. I took it to the dealer on multiple occasions and each time they updated the software or otherwise told me they took care of it. When I complained, they said they couldn't recreate the problem. (Salt Lake Valley Jeep dealership)
Now the warranty is expired and they want to charge me to to look at the problem. They didn't fix it when it was in warranty and seemingly just stalled until the warranty expired. What is a warranty worth if that is how it is honored?
My backup camera didn't work when I put the car into reverse. The touch screen was also frozen and not responding to attempts to change anything. After restarting the car, it worked again.
When trying to initiate a phone call everything works up to the point of dialing out, then the system immediately cancels the call. Tried multiple times, shut everything down, rebooted, unpaired and paired many times over. Nothing worked. Back to the service department! !!
