The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14V643000 (air bags, seat belts); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Updated 11/12/15 the consumer stated the vehicle was repaired. Updated 1/4/2015
At what point does someone step in and say enough is enough. In 1 1/2 years my vehicle has been in 12 times. Besides the 7 recalls, there has also been issues with the gas cover broke, leather seat issues, power steering, shocks, brake boot and rear camera. If that isn't bad enough, many times they issue a recall and don't even have the parts available. The lemon laws are so dealer and manufacture friendly that it is very difficult to qualify. Each time I go to the dealer it is 120 miles round trip. Someone needs to step in and reimburse the consumers for this expensive mistake that Jeep made in manufacturing these vehicles which has been passed on to the consumer who thought we were getting a reliable product.
While seating in the driver seat the back part of the seat where the seam is will make a loud popping noise like when you bend a thick piece of card board. You do not have to put pressure on the seat.
I was rear ended by a car traveling +65 mph while I was traveling 15 mph. The car sustained over $15,000 in damage, however my concern is over the drivers seat which came of track and was badly misaligned. Furthermore, my car has been in the shop for over 56 days now, and the parts required to fix the seat are not available. I have been given no approximate date of having the seat fixed and am without a car indefinitely. I have also been told that many other S are waiting for this part, at least 57 cases of special order, leading me to believe that production has stopped due to a defect.
