CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2014 (and 2015) Jeep Grand Cherokee have a serious defect trend of transmission complaints. Most of the complaints are for rough shifting — things like jerking & hesitation when shifting gears.
My drivers seat of my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee broke, the back fell out, on August 24th 2018. I called two Jeep dealerships who stated that since my car is out of warranty they would not help with this issue. Asked if I could get it replaced at my cost (which I am angry about to begin with) and they stated they would not take on the risk of a seat replacement since it is a known defect issue.
Since this time, I have called Jeeps customer service department 11 times and have been hung up on 5 of these times and the 6 other times have been told a case manager will call me back. I have asked to have an order placed for a new seat and told this has to be done through the dealership, when I told them the dealer would not do this for risk reasons, I was told to give it another try, which I unsuccessfully did.
I then got an email saying my case has been closed due to lack of evidence and 'known reasons', when pressed further I got canned email replies.
As of today (10/02/2018) the issue is still open and I have not had any assistance from a Jeep dealer or their customer service department.
