My daughter purchased a 2013 vehicle in 2014 with < 100 miles on it, she had difficulty with steering last week took it to the dealer of purchase. She was told the power steering is leaking, of course there is an extended warranty with the purchase deal. She took the vehicle to the Chrysler/Jeep dealer where she made the purchase. She was told this equipment is not covered under her warranty. This is a bunch of BS, why are people charged large amounts of money for the warranty contracts when it is not honored when major repair issues arise. She took the vehicle in and had the power steering pump repaired for the sum of 600(+) dollars, however the damage is already done to the steering rack. Now her vehicle with only 30,000 miles on it isn't drivable, according to the research I have done this may be an additional 1000(+) dollars. This also seem to be a common occurence with Jeep Grand Cherokee models, why have there not been any recalls to find out is this is an issue with the manufacturing process or use of cheap materials!!! This is outrageous. Consumers are lured in with all of these gimiks to purchase deals for big ticket items and get to crappy end of the deal. We are not going to take this laying down the dealer is going to make this right or meet us halfway! Consumers should not be pressured into taking out these warranties so car dealerships can get more money and soften the impact on themselves when goods they sell are less than the quality they pride their dealerships on!!! I am not pleased with this situation it is difficult to buy American when you are abused by American companies!!! SHAMEFUL!!!!! : (
