My battery light came on and the Jeep was making a whining noise, as if it was struggling to drive. I was able pullover into a parking lot, then it started to smoke under the hood. I had it towed to dealership, the worst mistake ever. Dallas Dodge has the worst service ever. Apparently it was the alternator, which had a recall but of course it drained my battery and I had to purchase a battery. All good right?!! NO, picked up the Jeep and the battery light was on. Service advisor, Liz Perez, said it would come off. But it didn't I drove it home and again it shut down on me. All light in the dashboard came on, wipers turned on without even turning them on and the Jeep was shaking. I was able to pull over in a apartment parking lot.
Call dealership, they said I would be responsible for towing fee, luckily I have roadside assistance. This was the 2nd time I towed Jeep to dealership, another big mistake. So then Liz Perez says its my PCM, it blew and I need a new one. Quoted me $1,000 to fix. I still don understand how a PCM can blow after a new alternator and battery are put in and by a mechanic. Of course the PCM blew, this is part of what the recall, it states it "cause PCM failure" A week later I made a complaint to Chrysler, what good did that do? Nothing, "thank you for driving Jeep" Chrysler would not pay for PCM but would reimburse for battery, but that is still not satisfying. Called Liz Perez, service advisor at Dallas Dodge, she said the PCM is $500, I asked how did the price go from $1,000 to $500?? Makes no sense at all, they pull numbers from the air. Had the PCM replaced, now its been 2 weeks the Jeep is not running.
Finally, go to pick up Jeep on 4/25/19, no battery light on, Jeep is on and running until I drive off, literally 2 miles out and power steering light comes on and stays on. Steering wheel is stiff and I am in the middle of the road. I called Dallas Dodge again, 3rd time Jeep has stalled, and i was told by the service advisor the power steering has nothing to do with PCM and there is nothing he can do. He also stated the PCM failed due to the alternator but has nothing to do with the power steering. No, I did not tow it back to the Dallas Dodge, I would never go back there. The tow guy had a bad experience with Dallas Dodge in 2018, he advised me not to stay away from them.
