Brought my 2013 Jeep grand Cherokee in for braking issues, was told abs module has failed. Dealership/Mopar does not have a replacement part for the module and no aftermarket support is available. As a father with a 2y/o and a newborn, this seems unacceptable that a critical component such as the abs module is no longer available 10yrs later.

Plain and simple, I bought my Jeep new in 2014. It was equipped with ready alert braking (rab). In 2016 it failed to stop causing an accident and injuring my wife. Then recently I discovered the rab system on my car had been recalled (14V104000) back in 2014 and I had never been notified. As I reviewed the recall campaign it was abundantly clear it had caused my wife's 2016 accident and injuries. I contact Jeep's hotline relating in an odd quirk I had received written proof in an unrelated correspondence from Chrysler that my 2013 was built with the rab system included. Instead of trying to remedy the recall oversight they told me to "contact my insurance company." A week later I tried to re-explain the fault was with their factory installed and recalled ready alert brake system on my vehicle. Because they won't bother to review the proof I hold nor believe their build (VIN) data is wrong I have no place to turn except you or a legal remedy. I hope you can motivate Jeep to do the right thing. Thank you.

My vehicle is equipped with Chrysler's ready alert braking system (rab) which Chrysler says is not installed on my vehicle according to it's VIN. The rab system on my vehicle (which was recalled under your campaign 14V104000) caused an accident with injuries exactly you described as the reason for your recall campaign in the first place. Chrysler refuses to acknowledge vehicle is equipped with the system. I have owned the vehicle from new and the rab system was even demonstrated to me by the dealership salesperson during my original test drive. In addition to accident/medical reports, the broken ankle bones could only have come from unforgiving hard brake pedal, during the crash as our vehicle failed to stop.

Intermittently the brake pedal will be very stiff when starting the vehicle and backing out. After a few miles it will ease up. But if a sudden stop is needed it is hard to push down again. Other times it functions normally. I noticed this on the test drive of the vehicle but the dealer said they didn't see any issues I bought this car around March of 2019. This problem has been ongoing intermittently

The car has issues starting up and when you try to start the car the brake become stiff and the car will not start but will crank. Also as I was driving the car cuts off without warning or when I stop at the red light the car just cuts off and I have to put it in park turn the car off and wait and restart after 5 minutes and it starts with no issues

While driving my car in the city, I experienced a sudden engine shutdown, and entirely lost control over the car (steering, breaks etc.) the car was towed to Chrysler's certified garage, where the malfunction was identified as a failure of the fuel pump relay (the same relay which was already been replaced, as part of recall R09). The garage also re-confirmed that this relay has been replaced under the recall, in 2015. The meaning of this failure demonstrates that practically, replacing the unit under recall R09 has not solved the problem and the risk is still there! I have reported this incident to fca in europe, and was responded that this failure "could happen in 5 years old car" and therefore, there is no safety issue that requires them to warn other owners. However, I have found on-line lots of similar complaints, most of them in the us, indicating that the failure of the replaced fuel relay is common, and that fca do not take responsibility. See the link below: I would like to emphasize that R09 (NHTSA safety issued id #15V115 https://www.NHTSA.gov/recalls?nhtsaid=15V115#recalls360) refers to 5 years old cars, and the failure that I have experience with the same replaced fuel relay, had occurred only 3 years later, and therefore, fca response is irrational and wrong. Since the event I avoid driving this car with my family nor do I let my children drive it. I simply don't trust the car anymore. Please be advised that I live in israel and have an office in Florida. I had to enter my fl address as there is no possibility for an international address. My international phone number is: +972544888755

The contact owns a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced failures after it was repaired per NHTSA campaign numbers: 17V572000 (service brakes, service brakes, hydraulic), 15V879000 (electrical system, interior lighting), and 15V115000 (electrical system). The dealer (stevens creek Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, 4100 stevens creek blvd, san jose, ca 95129, (408) 248-1800) performed the recall repairs. The contact felt that manufacturer campaign number: T-36 and NHTSA campaign number: 17V435000 (electrical system) regarding the alternator assembly failed to provide a permanent solution. The contact heard a ticking noise and a fire occurred within months of the dealer's recall repairs. While pulling into a parking area, there was a strong burning odor and smoke appeared under the hood. The contact parked and exited the vehicle. Upon inspecting under the hood, the contact noticed flames near the alternator assembly. The fire extinguished on its own. Afterwards, the vehicle was unable to be locked electronically, start up, and be driven. The vehicle was towed to huntington Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram (1220 E jericho turnpike, huntington, NY 11743, (631) 673-0270), but they did not inspect the vehicle to determine if the failures were related to any of the recall campaigns. The vehicle was still at the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was not available.

I purchased a used 2013 Jeep 2 years ago at novak motors in farmingdale, NY. They told me I needed to go to a Jeep dealership to get the brake recall taken care of. I tried calling the closest Jeep dealership to my work location at 642 w main street, riverhead, NY and spoke with martha" in the service department today and she said it would be several weeks before the next available appointment. When I asked her if I have warranty work, an open campaign that needed to be fixed, would I be able to get in sooner" the woman then replied to me that they were no longer accepting any new customers at all!
