The contact owns a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the leather on the dashboard had started to peel. The contact stated that she would feel the heat from the engine coming through the front vents on the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the contact was informed that there was a recall for the failure; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred her to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
