I have a 2013 Grand Cherokee and the Garmin GPS froze up on a Garmin download. I called Garmin and their reps were as useful as a milk bucket under a bull. I paid good money for the car with this feature and it fails in its 4th year. I bought the car with it so I own it . The Unit sits in the dash and everything else on the unit works, The dealer charges me $125 to tell me that they cant fix the lockup so it has to be replaced. They will allow me the $125 against the replacement unit and all I have to pay is $685.00. So I said i would get back to them. I called an hour later and said order the replacement but I want my unit from the car back. Who he says , you cant have your unit back . the replacement unit is an exchange unit at $ 1300 or there abouts. This is now BS. My opinion is that the replacement GPS is worth maximum $300.00 at Best Buy so they probably pay $150.00 for it , shove it into the slot with 4 screws , maybe 3 screws and the new customer that buys a JEEP gets the 4th screw. I am looking for a class action suit to join relative to this matter. The bigger problem is the recall related to the alternator failing and causing me severe injury when my JEEP stalls in the middle of Route 90 doing 65 MPH. NO PARTS AVAILABLE again BS. I think it is a federal law that car manufacturers must have a 10 year supply of parts available . Tell me how I hook up to a class action suit relative to these matters. KENSPORT@COMCAST.net
Update from Nov 28, 2017: The latter issue regarding the alternator diode failing is the more serious issue. I know that there is a class action suit and I wish to know how to add myself to the list. The recall notice came out at least two months ago and still no part and no call from the dealer BETARA JEEP West Springfield MA.
