CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2012 Grand Cherokee hasn't seen the same complaint volume as the 2011, at least not yet.
It's worth noting both model years are part of a class-action lawsuit that focuses on a defective TIPM and a long wait for replacement parts.
The 2012 also received national attention after it failed a Swedish Magazine's "moose test". The test measures a vehicle's ability to swerve out of the way of an obstacle you wouldn't want to hit while driving down the road ... like a moose.

Okay, I brought this vehicle secondhand. Great condition, amazing looking suv, BUT, I googled jeep complaints in AUSTRALIA,I did not agree with all of them so I got my jeep. MY first drama was the BRAKE MASTER CYCLINDER failed. THE MITSUBISHI dealer backed his firm and paid for it, SENT confirmation to JEEP they wiped me, because it was out of warranty. A master cylinder should last 17 to 20 years not 7. SO that calmed me down a bit.(NEXT) THEN the JEEP would not start, put your foot on brake, press stop/start button, the motor does not start but it seems to be turning over running on 3 or 4 cylinders. This is whilst in park. To get it to stop you have to keep pressing stop/start button. YOU have to do this several times to get it to start. After reading all complaints about JEEP, and personally dealing with there complaints dept. and being REJECTED my decision is final. THE JEEP GOES NEVER TO WALK THIS PATH AGAIN. BOB.
