CarComplaints.com Notes: The fourth generation Grand Cherokee took the relatively trouble-free run of the 3rd-generation and flipped the script.

From 2010 to 2011, complaints about the vehicle not starting increased 10-fold. In fact, the 2011 model year is riddled with engine problems and a defective TIPM might be to blame. The TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) distributes power to all the eletrical components in the vehicle, so when it starts acting funny so do numerous other components in the car. Orders for new TIPMs were so abundant that parts became scarce, prompting a class-action lawsuit claiming Chrysler ignored this obvious defect.

By 2012 complaints dropped back down by about 80%. Needless to say, if you see a used 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee on a lot just keep walking.

The lug nuts on the vehicle were swollen and apparently it's a known issue with Jeep I had to pay money out my own pocket to buy new lug nuts to rotate my tires which cost over $200 and when I contacted Jeep via email they said they were going to diagnose the problem and reach back to me it's been over a year now and havent heard from them I contacted them 3 more times and no response. Now I have an issue with my bluetooth being connected to my phone it keeps kicking my phone out I did a reset and hasn't worked and Jeep dealership is telling me its $135 to fix which I refuse if there is a known problem with Jeep and the radios that should be on recall as well. I have to re-pair my phone everytime I get back into my car. The bluetooth hasn't been working since May 2019 and my lug nuts had to be replaced last year August 2018. I bought this car in 2015 and the dealership told me I had 5 year warranty come to find out I had one year remaining because it started in 2011 when the car was made. Customer service sucks more and more with these dealerships not knowing a thing ! they just tell me they dont kno anything about this or that that I complain about. Ridiculous

My 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee has repeatedly incurred severe problems with the tipm (module) which controls the car's quad air suspension system. This car has been serviced by skinner and damulis, richfield springs, N.Y. (at least) six times for the same problem, at great expense - with no apparent resolution but to incur repairs costs in excess of $10,000. The 8/6/17 incident too, dealt with the defective air suspension system which, this time, caused the rear wheel to fall off while the car was being driven. My wife and I incurred injuries, however, the dealer told me that this issue was not related. Just two days ago, the car's suspension system lighted up on the dashboard. Pictures were taken, I called the auto dealer, however, I have yet to hear from them. In reviewing filed complaints coupled with a class-action lawsuit, this is all to familiar, however, Chrysler and their dealers' refuse to acknowledge and fix this problem with the full support from Chrysler. NHTSA needs to recall the 2011 Chrysler Jeep Grand Cherokee - outland edition - asap! time is of the essence!

Car was illegally parked in the middle lane, with no indicator lights on or any lights whatsoever. Speed limit was 45mph, I glanced to off to the side of the road where 3 gentlemen were standing and turned back to looking forward seeing a car parked with no lights in front of me. I rear ended the Ford Focus going about 45mph. The driver of the first car (hungry howies delivery driver) was deemed at fault due to mechanical issues and being illegally parked in the middle of the road with no hazard lights on! the airbag never deployed in my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee (massive recall with Chrysler cars, and takata supplied parts) the accident occurred on 5.19.15 at 12:15am while on my way home from work ( hilton suites. Auburn hills pd arrived on the scene and I was taken to mclaren hospital in Pontiac, mi in the ambulance.
