This letter sent in response to "pleased with recent service inquiry"...
Hey Barry....
Thanks for asking....While the service itself was ok, the answers I got to my situation were much less than satisfactory. My 06 Grand Cherokee recently developed an electrical issue...one headlight wont come on, and the directionals are acting weird. I replaced the headlight bulbs (new, both of them, just in case...), and still the passenger headlight wouldn't come on. Tested each headlight in the drivers side, both worked fine, tested both in the passenger side, neither worked. Tested the bulb receptacle, both have almost 12 volts showing on my test meter. So I made an appointment to have it serviced, told the girl I thought something might need to be reset, and brought it in this morning.
After a slight miscommunication (#1)(partially on my part, but also partially on one of your guys part) I pulled my car into the service line and checked in for my appointment. Beth asked me if could leave it, and I had asked when I made the appointment if I could wait, she told me they would take a look at it and let me know. She was pleasant and helpful, and clearly multitasking very well.
After about 2 hours (#2), Beth and one of the mechanics came out and told me they needed to order a TIPM, and she would be back to me shortly with costs... I asked if it might be covered under my extended service plan, and she told me she would look it up and let me know. She came back out shortly, and said she couldn't find any record of an extended service plan (#3), and the parts and labor would be around $600. I have emails saved from when I purchased the vehicle and warrantee from your store, which I showed her. She asked if I might have the paperwork in the glovebox, and I went and got it. She then called SureSale, gave them the necessary info, and they immediately found my policy, but of course the fine print in the contract clearly says...blah, blah...only the following parts are covered, and if your part is not on this list it is absolutely not covered (#4). Not Beth's fault, but clearly not what I wanted to hear.
After getting home, not happy about having to (#5) wait till the part comes in and bring the car back at a later date and lose another half day of work, and (#6) potentially spending $600, I started to do some research. Want to take a guess what I found, within seconds of searching? (#7) Hundreds of Chrysler/Jeep owners complaining about a variety of TIPM related problems, a class action lawsuit pending, and a host of complaints. Many much more serious than mine, and many much more expensive than the $600 or so I was quoted. See the following one of many....

So overall, my dissatisfaction comes from the #1-7 issues, not really from the actual service I got from your staff.
I added my name to the long list of people on the class action suit. Clearly, I am not the first one to complain about this, and Jeep/Chrysler should be replacing these defective TIPMs at no charge.....
Thanks again for asking,
