2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo dashboard lights keep illuminating. Consumer states that the indicator lights were for the brake system. She stated that she lost all power brakes. Repair shop received the tensioner and repaired the vehicle. The consumer stated she received a recall in the mail after she had experienced the problem. The serpentine belt tensioner was replaced and the rear defroster line was inoperative.
The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving 20 mph, the vehicle would not stop when the brakes were depressed this caused her to crash into the rear of another vehicle. The contact had the vehicle towed to the dealer (sports Chrysler Jeep) however they refused to repair the recall for the service brakes, hydraulic: Antilock: Control unit/module (NHTSA campaign id #07V434000). The manufacturer sent an investigator to inspect the vehicle and he stated that the recall was not the cause of the failure. As of December 5, 2007, the dealer had not repaired the vehicle. The current and failure mileages were 40,000.
