After losing power steering vehicle collided with a guard rail. Air bags failed to deploy in the frontal/side collision prior to a head on collision into a median/ditch and a roll over in a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Vehicle was totaled so nothing was done to repair. Consequences were a totaled vehicle, loss of personal property and severe bodily damage to driver resulting in brain contusions and hematomas, a 7 in gash on forehead and neck surgery to correct two disc that were crushing spinal cord into a "Z" shape>
The contact owns a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle does not have air bags and the horn does not sound. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic, who stated that the vehicle was previously involved in a crash. The dealer from where the vehicle was purchased would not assist with any repairs. The contact was concerned with the safety of the vehicle. The failure and current mileages were unknown. Updated 04-14-09 the consumer stated the air nag light was on the day she test drove the vehicle. Updated 04/16/09.
I was recently in an auto accident going about 30 mph where I ran into the rear end of another vehicle. I drive a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. My concern is neither my driver nor my passenger air bag went off and I hit the other vehicle hard enough that the front of my Jeep pushed my passenger fender back to where I was unable to open my passenger door. At what speed should my airbags have gone off?
: the contact stated the vehicle was involved in a head on collision at 45 mph and the air bags did not deploy. Both passengers in the vehicle sustained injuries. The air bag warning light was not illuminated and seat belts were worn by both passengers. A police report was taken. Updated 10/25/2006 -
My wife had a front end collision on Friday 5-6-05 with our 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The air bag failed to deploy. My wife sustained a head trauma injury.

On April 6, 2005 at aprox. 6:50 a.M. a car hit my Jeep Grand Cherokee 2004 special edition in the front, rear left side and back side part of the car. Upon impact, the air bags do not deployed. The driver hit with her chest the steering wheel. In addition, the driver seat belt do not hold her, so she impact the steering wheel.
Vehicle was involved in a frontal collision with another vehicle at 25-30 mph. Upon impact, neither frontal air bags deployed. No injury was reported. Dealer and the manufacturer were not notified.
During a 50 mph rear end vehicle collision, the front air bags did not deploy. The front seat belt buckle unlocked. The vehicle was towed. Please provided more information.
