The contact owns an evenflo discovery 209 child restraint seat, manufactured June 2007. The child seat was being utilized in a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the lever that tightened the straps was fractured, causing the entire safety seat to become unusable. The failure occurred outside of the vehicle. The child was not in the safety seat at the time of the failure. The manufacturer was not contacted.
Evenflo model # 3781522P1, dom September 2, 2004. When the contact went to put the child in the seat she found that the bar had broke where it attached to the seat. The contact was unsure of what caused the brakeage. Updated 11/29/05.
