The Jeep technition said that this was a common problem. Showed me the broken part. It was made of cheep plastic. Two other jeeps were in the sop for the same problem. Chrysler did agree to pay half through their goodwill policy. I payed $375 and jeep absorbed the other $375.

Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 55,000 miles

My 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited that I had owned from new only had 55,000 miles on it when one day the A/C and Heat went out. This lead to many problems in the rain and not to mention the discomfort of driving in the Hot and Cold Weather. In the end it ended up being a belt that had rubbed to the point of burning up. this was covered by our warranty but was still a pain.

Called to complain about problem. Explained to them that the Jeep technician knew right away what the problem was and that this problem occured all the time in the Limited with dual heat controls. It was an engineering flaw. They made me pay $100 and they absorbed the rest of the cost.
