Engine would not start -- replaced fuel filter which was full of odd debris [mechanic, non-dealer, cut it open to inspect]. four days later same problem. Did some research online and found several complaints that the gas tank lining can deterioatesand leave debris in tank which passes to filter then beyond. Car is now at dealer awaiting diagnosis. Dealer rep says he is unaware of any such problem with the gas tank.
Driving down city street to work, heard loud pop followed by clank clank coming from engine, immediately pulled over, mechanic diagnosed problem as broken connecting rod. Dealer wants $6000 to rebuild motor.
While driving 70 mph engine stalled, no prior notice. Consumer unable to start vehicle. Had to be towed to dealer. Dealer stated problem was with electrical system and replaced cam sensor. Mileage at the time was 591.
