Transmission makes loud noise when shifting from park to reverse. Problem was intermittent when vehicle first purchased. Dealer told me this was not a issue and that all Jeep made some noise while shifting to reverse. Noise become more common and louder/harder with time.
Consumer stated the vehicle felt sluggish when first starting in the morning, the dealer removed the transmission pan and found excessive brass and metal inside the pan, the dealer dissassembled the transmission, and pump bushings that were stuck on the torque converter, also the rear clutch was burnt.
Consumer stated there was no indication of transmission fluid showing on the dipstick, the vehicle would downshift from drive to a lower gear, after 4 visits to the dealer it was discovered that the transmission vent tube was missing, which the factory failed to install.
Ingage in park, got out of the vehicle left driver side door open, engine on wasked back around to get in the vehicle. Suddenly shifted int reverse and took off down driveway and crashed backend first into large oak tree. Vehicle tottaled
