I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee.. I have the same as all other 2000 jgc owners are having. Been using coolant every few weeks needs to be topped off.. fan was replace due to recall. Had to replace fan control under headlight. Last year was overheating. Replaced water pump/ thermostat. Overheating again. Just replaced thermostat today. Did not fix the problem. Transmission has been shifting hard for the past year and a half. I replaced parts in transmission as suggested by dealer. But it did not fix problem..replaced radiator around may of 09 still having cooling problems. I replaced so many sensors that have failed that I cant remember them all. I still have 1 more year of payments on this vehicle.. its hard to make payments when I have been buying so many parts to try to keep this car running. Bad door seals, they are too small (short or shrinking) it lets water come in back passenger area. Always smells musty inside.. black mold in the rainy season. Taillight brake light on one only works part time. Replaced 3 door latches. Including one on rear hatch.

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and recently my band in my transmission broke, so I have no 2nd gear. I brought it to a transmission shop and they told me it happens very often on the make and year of my vehicle. It would be an $1800 to $3000 fix. As of right now my car wont shift until it reaches 5000 RPM's, since I don't have the money to fix. I was just wondering if it has happened alot on this make and model car if it would be a recall.

The contact owns a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While the vehicle was parked in the driveway and when the door was opened, the vehicle shifted out of park and began to roll backwards. The door stopped the vehicle from rolling too far. Both the front fender and driver's side door were damaged. The manufacturer and dealer had not been notified. The current and failure mileages were approximately 100,000.

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee heat not working - a common complaint of many Jeep owners seeking to file a class-action lawsuit against daimler Chrysler Jeep. $900 + is beyond absurd to pay to fix this common problem that Jeep should have recalled and fixed for free.

I have a 2000 Jeep gc Laredo, and along with many, many other people I have numerous problems. The warped rotors are very dangerous when you have to use your brakes, especially when you have children in the car as I do, also the taillight/brake light issue, that has gotten me pulled over more than once, even though I put a new bulb in it every time. The door lock actuator that is very annoying not to mention my transmission has a shifting problem that I can't do anything about and now my radiator fan will not work so my car will overheat if I am stopped for too long.

On Sunday September 4, 2005 while returning from a 220 mile trip the radiator fan on our 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee fractured and separated, causing rupture of radiator, coolant loss and rapid overheating. The vehicle was towed to Firestone auto repair where the radiator, fan and shroud assembly were replaced. The vehicle was picked up on September 7, 2005. It became apparent when leaving Firestone that the transmission had suffered damage as a result of the overheating. The vehicle was taken to panhandle transmission where a rebuilt transmission was installed. A recall notice was issued by daimler-Chrysler in October 2006. Invoices, credit card statements and canceled check was submitted to daimler Chrysler as proof of defect and subsequent damage repair. Daimler-Chrysler reimbursed the cost of the fan, radiator and shroud replacement on November 16, 2006 in the amount of $1003.89 but no reimbursement for the damage caused to the transmission ($1350) due to radiator failure and rapid overheating of the transmission coolant system.

Our Jeep Grand Cherokee has a transmission selector (automatic) that has slipped so that there is no park. Park now operates as reverse, reverse as neutral, neutral as drive etc. There is no longer a way to reach 1st gear and the car will roll when it is in park. The car is in the daimler Chrysler shop now and nothing was done to cause this extremely dangerous failure.

My 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee has had a heater problem. It gets so hot that it can burn my fingers. Then all of a sudden on the passenger side the heat doesn't work it only blows cold air through the vent and on the floor. Also in the trasnmission when you come to a stop you can sometimes feel a loud thump like someone just rear ended you. It happens about 3-4 times a week.

Upon review of similar issues from other 1999/2000 Jeep owners with transmission problems, I am filing this complaint due to lack of notice by brandow or daimler Chrysler regarding transmission issues with this vehicle.

I own a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee loredo. Currently I am experiencing severe transmission problems. Everyone I know who owns a Jeep Grand Cherokee is experiencing the same problems with their transmission. My car currently has about 88,000 miles. I have also had to replace 3 of the lock latches within six months. The automatic locks just brake for no reason and are very expensive to be replaced.

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. In early December I was driving the vehicle when my engine light illuminated. I immediately called my mechanic, who happens to work for midas. He told me to bring it in right away. Because I live closer to midas than any Jeep dealer, and because of the service I have received in the past from Jeep/Chrysler, I took it to my mechanic. He advised me I had a blown head gasket. I received an estimate from him and he also advised me that the dealership would be considerably more expensive, I allowed him to repair the vehicle. After the repairs were complete, I talked to my mechanic and he advised me to contact Chrysler/Jeep and ask for reimbursement. Here in lies the complaint. When I contacted the dealership, bob dance Jeep in oralndo, I was told there was nothing they could do to help because it was my fault I drove the vehicle "hot". I explained the reasons I took it to my mechanic as opposed to the dealer and I was told so sorry. I then try to contact the warranty people for the vehicle. I was told I only had a 3year 36,000 mile warranty and that I wasn't able to do anything about it. The vehicle had 49,000 miles at the time of repair. I asked if I would be allowed to purchase an extended warranty and was rudely told no. This is only one example of the customer service I have received since purchasing this vehicle in July 2000. I have also replaced the transmission, two bateries, repaired the window which did not work and had the rotors cut three time. When I spoke to Chrysler headquarters, I was not surprised to receive the same response. I was told because the work was done by an independent garage, midas, I was not entitled to any type of reimbursement, period. I don"T trust Jeep/Chrysler. I don't want them working on my vehicle. Someone please help me!!
