I was driving at about 40-45mph, and suddenly the steering got incredibly stiff. The vehicle had stalled. I managed to pull off to the side of the road and tried to turn it back on. It cranked, but wouldn't turn over. I called Jeep, and had it towed back to the dealership. They told us it was the gear on the cam speed sensor. The mechanic showed us what he said was the cam sensor. Several of the teeth on the gear were shorn off. We asked to keep the bad part, and they said that was not allowed. I'm afraid the same thing will happen while I am driving on the highway.
While driving at highway speeds vehicle will completely shutdown without warning, cause unknown. Dealer replaced a sensor which did not correct the problem.
This Jeep has numerous problems and has been to the dealership for service 4 time and they have failed to repair even 1 of our complaints. All complaints other than the pull to the right have been dismissed with the explanation of can not duplicate. They have tried to repair the pull to the right but it only got worse. We were told by a repair tech. That it needed a new part to correct the pulling to the right but Chrysler has failed to install this needed part. We have requested a repurchase of the Jeep under the lemon law but Chrysler denied our request stating that the pull to the right is due to "road crown" and if you hold the steering wheel with a strong to medium grip you don't notice the pull to the right! we have this in writing from the arbitrator that Chrysler hired. The dealership and Chrysler attempted to conceal some service repair forms that had the loose rear hatch problem and the pull to the right. Chrysler stated in letters to the attorney general that we had never brought the rear hatch alarm to the attention of the dealership which was disproved at arbitration but we still never received a copy of the repair sheet even though the dealership has it and provided a copy to the arbitrator. We have parked this Jeep due to the increasing severity of problems. We think this Jeep is dangerous due to it's numerous defects. We refuse to let anyone ride in the back for months due to the rear hatch (which the district manager for Chrysler found was loose at the arbitration hearing by pushing on the bumper and hatch.

Engine difficult to start when hot. When engine is hot and you let sit for a short period of time and trying to restart, it turns over but acts as starved of fuel. Now turn the key off and try to restart, it will start but sometimes chokes down then shutters up to recommended idle speed.
