This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
My complaint is regarding my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the left rear seat belt. The seat belt has worked fine until the other day when it just up and quite working. Now the seat belt will not snap back into position. I thought I would check to see if there were any recalls on this and noticed there were recalls on 1999 models like mine, but they did not include my vehicle in this recall. The NHTSA recall # for the rear seat belts is 98V276000. I find this kind of strange that there would be a recall on (1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee) the same thing that I am now having the problem with. I have ordered the part and it is going to cost me $97.45 to get it fixed not including installation.
