This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Have just been advised that a motor which operates some type of door to release heat and air in a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee needs to be replaced. It appears that no replacement is available and Jeep has a 1200 part backlog with no plans in the works to even begin production of this part for replacement. While one can conceivably do without heat or air conditioning, this is a definite safety issue as having a working defroster in the middle of winter is a necessity.
