Gas gauge inaccurately reads the amount of fuel in the vehicle. A recall has been issued on vehicle make/model. However, this vehicle was not included. The dealer and manufacturer have been notified.
The vehicle ran out of gas, with the gas gauge indicator showing a 1/4 tank of gas. Not sure if vehicle was included in recall # 97V194000/97V194001. Did not receive recall notice. Owner was told by Firestone about recall.
Gas gauge malfunctioned due to a defective fuel sending unit and pump which was recalled for the 1997 grand cherokes but this is a 1998 Grand Cherokee, and it is not included. Please provide further information and VIN#.
Recall # 97V194000 mfr 755; consumer states when traveling the vehicle cut off due to the fuel gauge which indicated more fuel that was actually present. Consumer has contacted the dealer, dealer states parts not in.
