My fuel tank showed 1/4 tank with my distance to empty computer showing 92miles left.as I rounded a corner at a busy intersection the car sputtered to a halt with no fuel in it.at the gas station the tank took 24.5 gallons (tank capacity 23.5 gals. )I could have got smashed by another car had I got to the highway. A recall was made on a few similar models but not for when my car was built. I feel all 1997 Jeep should get this recall before someone gets killed. Thanks dr. Dinshaw sidhwa.
Gas gauge malfunctioned due to a defective fuel sending unit and pump which was recalled for the 1997 grand cherokes but this is a 1998 Grand Cherokee, and it is not included. Please provide further information and VIN#.
