"Death wobble" almost did me in on my last trip from LA to San Francisco on Highway 5. It happened twice - once when I was in the right lane and the second time when I was in the left (fast lane) with bumper-to-bumper trucks in the right lane.
This first happened in September, 2015. My solution, at that time, was to immediately pull off to the the shoulder, slow down to about 45 mph and when the "wobble" subsided, return to the highway. On this last trip, however, it was tough/impossible to do when I was in the left lane. I thought that I was going to loose control of the car and crash. I was terrified that the guy behind me would run me over before I could move over to the right lane (there was no shoulder on the left ) get off of the highway and then get control of the car.
I thought that I had had the problem fixed, but was sadly mistaken. Now, I have had the steering stabilizer bar replaced (about $200) and will hope that the problem is in the past.
