I returned home from a 1 mile drive to pick up my daughter. We went upstairs to our second floor apartment. About 10 minutes later I heard the alarm to our 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee going off. I went outside to shut it off, and found the whole engine up in flames. My husband tried to put it out with a fire extinguisher, but it was too late. By the time the fire dept. Got there it was a total loss.
Just started the vehicle when it stalled and made a "grinding" noise unexpectedly which caused an underhood fire. Cannot determine what caused the fire.
