Replaced nearly all steering components ( tie rods , stabilizer link , damper ,control arms) . Wobble left for about 6 months now has returned . Beside myself in diagnosing the problem .
borrowed from my inlaws as I totaled my van by hitting a deer. when I started driving it I felt this shaking and I slowed down then gave it the gas again. I have tried slowing down, speeding up, hitting brakes, etc and nothing works! It shakes so bad I wonder if the wheels and/or axle are going to fall off! My hubby says he is going to take it to get it fixed but in the meanwhile I have nothing else to drive!! When someone called this the death wobble I can definitely understand why!! Hope it can be fixed as it is my mother-in-laws jeep but am waiting to get another vehicle to drive in the meanwhile as this is unacceptable even to drive 15 min to my local grocery store:((
I was driving up Highway 403 in Mississauga when I went over a bridge and when I went over the bump caused by the junction in the bridge, the steering wheel began jerking uncontrollably. The entire vehicle was vibrating was control was becoming less and less available. Acceleration was limited to, and the transmission seemed to stay in 3rd and would not shift.
Immediate Remedy: Slow vehicle down to under 30km/h at which point the steering stabilizes and situation is corrected.
Cause of Issue: Under acceleration, going over a bump.
