On November 3rd, while driving on the interstate, we drove over some uneven pavement. The steering wheel and vehicle started shaking. After slowing down, the shaking disappeared. It then reappeared again after another rough patch of highway. This is the 3rd time it's happened while we've owned the vehicle. Dealer always downplays our concerns.
At 8100 miles whenever driving on interstate and hit an uneven patch of road, such as a bridge entry, exit, the wheels start vibrating heavily and requires decreasing speed to get under control. This vibration gets out of hand and creates an out of control feeling that requires sudden deceleration and this gets dangerous with traffic behind traveling at interstate speeds.
The contact rented a 2023 Jeep Gladiator from Budget Rental Car Company located at 28 Ibm Rd, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH and driving over a pothole in the roadway, the front end of the vehicle and the steering wheel started shuddering violently. The contact stated that upon releasing the accelerator pedal and decelerating to 55 MPH, the vehicle operated as needed. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving at various speeds. The contact notified the rental car company of the failure and requested a replacement vehicle due to significant safety concerns; however, the request was denied. The rental car company informed the contact that the vehicle would be towed from the contact's residence to their location. Budget Rental also informed the contact that he would be charged for the towing expenses in the event no failures were found. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle remained parked at the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
Several times while driving on the interstate highway, my gladiator starts shaking violently! It is just at normal highway speeds. It is not like going too fast or anything. It seems like if it hits some rough spot in the road that it begins shaking and won't stop. If I change lanes, it keeps going with the shaking. Not until I slow way down will it stop shaking. This vehicle has less than 5000 miles on it. It is scary and unsafe.
This truck shakes (trembles) usually at highway speeds triggered only when there is an irregularity on the pavement, it continues doing that even after I pass the irregularity, until I reduce the speed. My truck has only 2103 miles on it, I have not driven it off roads or any extreme driving. I first noticed the problem at 610 miles. I took the truck to the dealership so they can fix the problem. They did not do anything. I worry about loosing control of the truck and have an accident. I check this and found a name :" death wobble". What can you do? Thanks.
