My husband noticed the vehicle was losing oil by either leaking it or burning it. He thought he was losing his mind. Turns out there is a class action lawsuit with people stating the same problem.

This unfortunately is my 1st vehicle ever. Pretty sad. Look for my second complaint concerning casting sand left in the block that was found after no heat after I bought this brand new off the lot if you want here something really sad!

Compass Limited 2.4L

We bought our 2017 Jeep Compass Limited with 26,000 miles on it. It was still under warranty. As soon as we got to 36,000, and the warranty ran out the Jeep started using excessive amounts of oil. We went to the dealership. They did the oil consumption test, and we were told by the dealership that the Jeep is within the "normal" range of oil usage. However, the only way that the Jeep will make it from one oil change to the next without running dry is for us to add oil. The only option we were left with to trade the Jeep in, or just live with it. My old car that I traded in when we got the Jeep was was made in 2001. I never had to add oil, and quit honestly it got better gas mileage than the Jeep.

Excessive oil usage on a fairly new car which was purchased new and is a one-owner vehicle. Found out car was low on oil in between oil changes. The first time it happened, I just thought the dealership did not fill oil correctly at oil change. Then it happened again and I started researching the problem and found out that there is a problem with Tigershark engines.

I had an oil consumption test done at the dealership which showed oil usage. Vehicle was recalled to reprogram PCM which was completed on 3/23/21. My vehicle is still using approximately 1/2 quart of oil per month.
