This vehicle has cut off driving on the highway 4 times at least in the last year. I called FCA tonight 11/8/2023 and it supposedly had a recall done in Feb 2017 before we owned it at a dealership who leased the car replacing the crank shaft sensor. We took it in to the Jeep dealer this time after having it serviced 4-5 times at local auto shops and towed by AAA and they are telling us it is the crank shaft sensor and pigtail again.
We feel we should not have to pay for this and could have been killed besides the fact we have not been able to drive this car for a year because of this happening. No sign just stops suddenly and engine lights come on. Car will usually start back up and run but engine light stays on. We purchased the car used from a dealer in 2018. Costing us $1550 for diagnostic, crank shaft sensor and pigtail, and fuel filler neck and fuel cap... I pray it gets fixed right this time but will never ever trust the car ... Very scary pulling out of driveway onto the highway and no shoulders to pull over on.
Want to sell this car but so good in the snow up here in central NY with the chunky tires we have on it. That and its paid for... But being a recall we should be able to forever get this part replaced being it is too dangerous to drive and there was a recall.... Who knows if that dealership really replaced the parts... Carmax just says serviced. No proof. You would think it would say recall was replaced being sooo important...
