I purchased this vehicle in May of 2021. It has been in the shop twice since I got it. This time for the crankshaft sensor. When this started the vehicle would shut down while driving in traffic and then it was extremely difficult to restart. I took it to the dealership and they said the crankshaft sensor has to be replaced to the tune of 800 dollars. After doing some research, I found out that there had been a Safety Recall for this exact problem. So I called Chrysler and they told me because my VIN didn't fall under the recall there was nothing they could do. I asked them that clearly this is a continuous Safety issue. How is it that your vehicle stopping dead in traffic not a safety issue? Then after more research I was made aware that this is a continuous problem with the Jeep Compass. The dealer and Chrysler refuse to correct this problem, so if I get into an accident and god forbid hurt or kill myself or someone else, I want it on record that West Here Dodge of Orchard Park, NY and Chrysler refused to correct this problem.
