I was sitting in my car talking on the phone, parked in the parking lot and I felt the headrest hit the back of my head. I thought maybe somebody had hit me but nobody was behind me. The person I was on FaceTime with say and heard my head get hit and thought the same thing. Turns out it was the headrest that sprung forward and the small plastic clip that holds it together is broken. It came out of no where while I was parked and now I worry how safe would we be if I got into a collision. Additionally it vibrates now while stopped at a red light.
While driving home from work one day I heard a loud sound like a gun. The headrest to the passenger seat just deployed on its own. Took it to my mechanic to be corrected and he said it couldn't be reset the clip or a pin must have broke. Then on Wednesday July 28th I got a warning light on my dashboard pertaining to airbags. Puts fear in me because I need to know that my airbags are there for me if needed. C&H AUTO CARE is aware of the problems with my vehicle. They are located in Joppa Maryland.
I was driving at a normal speed and out of no where my head rest popped out so hard. It hit the back of my head and I almost got into an accident. It scared the living daylight out of me. I thought someone hit me from behind or that I got into an accident. There was no warning for this at all. I am very scared to drive my vehicle now. My neck does hurt at the moment, but no serious injury.

Takata recall our 2014 Jeep Compass was involved in a 5 car accident 3/4/2019 in henderson nv. Proceeding East bound on I-215, a white Hyundai was stalled in the center lane in the beginning of rush hour traffic. A red Toyota traveling at approximately 70 mph struck the rear end of the Hyundai catapulting the Hyundai across lanes into the passenger doors (front and back) of our 2014 Jeep Compass destroying the passenger rear door where my 12 year old son was seated causing injury to his shoulder neck and arm. At no time did the passenger side airbags deploy as they should have, were designed to do or marketed as a safety feature. The recall work was completed between 12/10-13/2018. Our 2014 Jeep Compass was also East bound on I-215 traveling approximately 60 mph and was just passing in the left furthermost lane the stalled Hyundai when the Toyota rear ended the Hyundai catapulting the Hyundai into the passenger side of our Jeep Compass.
2 years! for over 12 years my airbag light has been on..... for 2 years this vehicle has had this recall for the occupant restraint controller. The potential loss of air bag and seat belt pretensioner deployment capability... 2 years I I have inquired about getting this fixed, for 2 years I am being told that the parts are not available... yet they are churning out new Jeep every single day... why cant this be replaced with one from the new Jeep" thankfully I haven't had an accident, and needed this airbag, but what if I would? what if I were to have an accident where an airbag could have saved my life? will Jeep do something then? why aren't they being held accountable to fix this" mileage and speed entries are just number to fill the blanks, since I did not have an accident... the date filled in is the date the recall was posted.
Takata recall - 12.21.17, took my vehicle to nissani bros Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler at 5750 mesmer ave B, culver city, ca 90230 where I ordered the recall parts. They processed my recall and I picked up my car a week later. I received a notice that there was still an open recall on my car, and I thought that that may be a delay. I just received another recall notice, and called them to clarify that they had in fact fixed the recall, only to find out that they had not. I spoke with a technician who said that their records at first indicated that it had been completed, but upon further inspection, the recall had not been completed and I have since driven over 1K miles.
"Jeep Compass recall". good afternoon, I was unaware that my Jeep is under a recall. I haven't received anything in the mail regarding the recall. My address hasn't changed and I haven't heard anything in writing about my Jeep's recall. I would at least like a letter explaining my recall so I can get this taken care of as soon as possible.
