The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Compass. While traveling approximately 70 mph with the cruise control activated, the driver attempted to stop the vehicle by depressing the brake pedal; however, the cruise control did not deactivate. The driver shifted into the neutral position to stop the vehicle. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified. The failure mileage was 60,000. The VIN was not available.
