Well, firstly there are no parts available in Canada at this time. I will have to wait till the last week in April 2016 if not the first week in May 2016 till the part is available. Also it seems strange that there was a recall on this very part the PMC ( power train control module). In 2009 and a recall was issued. So out of pocket and NOT covered by warranty. I get stuck with the repair bill of $ 1000.00USD/ equivalent

Also having to lodge a complaint with Chrysler now as the Dealer will not give me a rental as its not under warranty, considering it is Not driveable.

When we bought this Jeep from Koons Jeep in Tysons Corner Virginia, we were told that the top of the line service contract hat we bought would cover the "computer" problems . The service contract specifically said that the PCM is covered. A dealer (Safford Jeep, Springfield Va) service representative said that moisture caused corrosion. The Safford Jeep Service Manager could not explain how to prevent this PCM failure. Well the PCM is on the engine block exposed to elements such as wet pavements and humidity. Does the PCM have a design defect..When the PCM failed the car became in operable. Luckily the Jeep was parked in our driveway when it failed to run. If the PCM fails while driving an accident could occur.

So my concerns are twofold, one is the vehicle safe having a PCM that is prone to failure and two, what good is a $3300 service contract that weasels out of paying for covered items?
