Took the vehicle to a mechanic and they could not find anything wrong. They said they would need to have the vehicle for a while so they could do more testing. I notice that several people are having the same problem with their vehicles that are made by Jeep ie Chrysler.
Update from Jun 10, 2019: Had to trade the Compass in because of hesitation problems.
