Sometimes you can deal with little problems but when they keep coming back they need to be fixed. When the alternator went out in Mar. 2013 I considered it a little problem. I noticed the noise and it was replaced. The second time there was no warning, battery light went on, a minute later, engine light and within seconds every electrical light on the panel went on one by one until the engine stopped and all was done. I noticed others talking about engine problems. Being on the highway going 65 mph and suddenly no power and nowhere to go. This is a very dangerous situation.

There needs to be a better warning sign! Also why is an alternator failing at such a low mileage! I've had my other car since 1997 and haven't yet had an alternator problem. Plus, if it's going to fail why make it so hard to replace! Second time it failed was Jan. 2015

It would appear that when one purchases a Jeep, we go through the joys of rebuilding it part by part. Since owning this vehicle, in two years time I have spent almost 8,000.00 in repairs. The first time I went into the dealership for an oil change and checkup and left with a 2,500.00 bill. Front end work they tell me. Then Electrical problems with car refusing to start. After towing to the garage and losing my car for four days, The problem was simply electrical connections under the car on the front wheelwell, were corroded and replaced. Yes folks another 1200.00 to fix that. I think the full front end of the vehicle has been replace along with expensive shocks for the rear. Now I have just taken in the vehicle due to noises, and a loud whiring sound. Once again I am told; Alternator, Idler pulley, Idler pulley, clutch pulley, and oh yes another 1300.00. I am told the parts for a Jeep product are always more expensive than other brands of vehicles. Needless to say the experience with Jeep products has been a frustrating one. I will say this; I like the size, comfort of the vehicle, however, Jeep/Chrysler please advise me on the continuance of these ridiculous costs to own your product. Help would be much appreciated.
