While traveling in highway at 65 mph, my 2007 Jeep Compass jerked and I loss acceleration down to 40 mph and then it would not go any faster even with the gas petal down to the floor. Got off highway and car only would go 25 mph. Just had a tune up two days prior to this problem. When the car jerked and loss acceleration, the engine came on and began to blink and ring. After the tune up the dealership said everything was good. I guess that wasn't true. Problem with transmission?
2007 Jeep Compass. Consumer states problem with automatic transaxle and transmission overheat the consumer stated two of the three Jeep she owns were having the same problems. During high speed driving, on hot days the automatic transxale oil became extremely hot, and the transmission overheat light would illuminate and the vehicle would slow down slightly until the automatic transaxle cooled down enough to allow a return to the requested speed. The transmission fluid was low due to a leak in the transmission pan. Updated 01/31/11

I have a 2007 Jeep Compass. And for the past year I have had several issues with the vehicle stalling when I am decelerating or stalling when at a complete stop. Some times the vehicle jerks so bad that my seat belt locks up. I took it to the dealership where I bought it and they said there was nothing wrong with it but that the tech's are unfamiliar with the new transmission in this vehicle. I also have problems with the driver side seatbelt it clicks when I put it on but then all of a sudden it will come right off. I had a screw stuck in my front tire today and could not get the front tire off when we finally got it off we figured out why it would not come off there is rust. I am very unhappy with the problems and scared that the vehicle will stall when I am on a major highway.
