The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Compass. While driving approximately 45 mph, there was an abnormal burning odor and heat coming from the seat when the driver side seat heater was activated. The contact felt a pinch coming from the seat as well. Upon inspection, the contact noticed a hole burned into the seat and the contact's jacket. There were no injuries. The contact turned off the seat heater. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. An investigator was sent from Chrysler to inspect the vehicle, but the diagnosis was not disclosed. The failure mileage was approximately 113,000.
