I am SHOCKED by the quality of the 3.7 engine! The WATER PUMP is like a tinker toy; and NO engine is supposed to spit out rocker arms for ANY reason. I READ this happens frequently on these engines. CHRYSLER had lots of time to deal with this issue CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT should be summoned! The engine overheats, and LOPES as this number 4 exhaust valve does NOT open and allow burned gas to escape! There is NO GOOD REASON for this event, and OVERHEATS are imminent!! I READ and HEARD that this is a common problem for the 3.7 liter engine. There is NO EXCUSE for this to happen! This engine was cared for IMMACULATELY< and the water pump failed at 82,000 miles taking out the head gasket and head bolts, and NOW also the rocker arm on number 4 exhaust. This truck still LOOKS like NEW in every other area. but there is just NO Excuse for a ROCKER arm to get ejected from under the overhead camshaft! as a TECHNICIAN I am TOTALLY SHOCKED by the lack of engineering involved here! NO ENGINE should ever eject a rocker. it's UNBELIEVABLE. JEEP and CHRYSLER should get sued over this and replace EVERY BAD ROCKER ARM or improve the engine quality of the 3.7 engine! And REIMBURSE anyone with this issue! Never saw ANY other engine do this before. seen # bad 3.7 engine in CRATES getting sent to the junk yard! How can it be POSSIBLE that a HUGE company can make such a BAD product that otherwise is very enjoyable. JEEP should bend over BACKWARDS to improve their lousy image with this HIORRIBLE engine problem. and at LOW mileage of 82000 miles, TOO!
