The contact owns a 2009 Jeep Commander. The contact stated that the key fob would inadvertently split in half. As a result, the vehicle would intermittently shut off while driving at various speeds. An authorized dealer was made aware of the failure and the contact was informed that the key fob would need to be replaced. The contact did not replace the key fob. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
