It randomly loses all power and it seems to shift erratically at this time as well. The check engine light dings once then disappears with out storing a any codes to diagnose. It only does it while I'm driving and if it happens while braking it loses the ability to brake. Very dangerous car, bought from dealership, told it had no problems due to not having any check engine lights and didn't do it on the test drive. AS IS WARRANTY.

While driving the car would just shut off at random losing brakes, steering and engine power as well as other comfort features. It has happened on at least 6 occasions, usually you could just shift to neutral while driving and restart the car fixing the issues. Today however it happened will switching lanes to the center turn lane. Upon applying the brakes to wait to turn left the pedal went to the floor, then on the second depress it was super stiff and very little braking force applied. This caused the Jeep to rear end the 2 other cars waiting to turn left. The airbags didn't deploy either.

Since I purchased my Jeep Commander I have experience total electrical failure while driving on many occasions. This happens approximately every 6 months. While driving in speeds varying from 20 - 70 miles an hour my car will lose power. Prior to losing power all dash lights, tachometers, hazards, warning lights and performance indicators will flash repeatedly, very quickly. Within moments of the flashing lights my gas will shut off, my brake system completely fails and my steering will completely lock up. I have absolutely no way of controlling my vehicle in any manner. Several times my vehicle has stopped in major traffic. Numerous times other vehicles have had to make drastic maneuvers to avoid crashing into my car. I have almost been rear ended and was nearly T-boned when my car died as I attempted to make a left hand turn. In the event that I am hit, my airbags have no power and will not deploy. My windows and locks have no power. My children and I could be trapped in my car. I have taken my car to the Jeep dealership that I purchased it at and they refuse to fix it and will not provide a replacement vehicle that is not a death trap. I have called the Chrysler recall assistance center and was told no parts are available and have no indication as to when or if there ever will be. I cannot sell my car because no one will buy it knowing it has such major safety issues. This is the only vehicle I own. I have 3 children that drive in this car everyday. One of my children has cancer and I need a safe reliable car to take him for chemotherapy treatments. Chrysler is not accepting any responsibility even though I was mailed a recall notice. Please help!!!!!

It has been happening since at least July 2014. Vehicle will stall without warning. Will accelerate with out being able to stop. Sometimes we are even unable to get it started for a few minutes. Even after taking everything off the key ring it is continuing to get worse.

Driving to work at the normal speed, my vehicle just turned off in the middle of traffic, which resulted in the car behind me hitting me. I am deathly afraid to drive this car. When I went to Chrysler & called several times, I was told I was out of luck & couldn't be helped. I was even hung up on. I'm not sure what to do besides contacting the news & hiring an attorney, which isn't in my budget. Is there anyone that can help me?

Was driving to work going about 60 mph and motor just shuts off. Had to pull off to the side of the road and turn off the key and tried to restart engine. It didn't start on the first try had to turn key off and tried again it started. It did the same thing when I was going home that morning had to do the same thing as above to get it started again. This is very dangerous I didn't have power steering or brakes luckily I wasn't on the freeway.

Slowing down at a traffic light and the vehicle stalled. Again coming close to causing a major accident because of so much traffic., the vehicle would not start again for about 30 minutes cause grid lock and chaos. All I could here was a clicking sound when trying to start it. This happened multiple times after that and the last time I ended up having to steer into a steep ditch to avoid rear ending an 18 wheeler. I had my kids with me at the time. I contacted the dealer and got no help.

My wife was driving to church with my daughter and the vehicle stalled without warning for the 7th or 8th time since we bought the vehicle. There was heavy traffic at 6pm and it scared her and my 9 yr old daughter to tears. This vehicle is a real danger to my family and the lives of others. It does not start at this point.

While driving down the road the Jeep shut off, complete loss of power, brakes and steering then after a few seconds turned back on. This had happened 4 times within 10 mile. This is not the first time that this has happened. I had taken it to the dealership so they could plug it into their computer. The results were negative and could not find any problems. Searching online, there are several other Jeep owners that are having the same problem. There needs to be a recall on these vehicles before someone gets hurt or killed.
