The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated the vehicle was hesitating while starting the vehicle and was jerking into gear while shifted into drive(D). The contact stated that the failure also occurred while stopped at a traffic signal. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal, the hesitated and then lurched forward. The contact stated that the vehicle also lost motive power and almost stalled while driving at various speeds. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed and it was determined that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred, and the check engine warning was illuminated. The contact returned the vehicle to the same dealer to be diagnosed and was informed that the purge solenoid and purge hose needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that after retrieving the vehicle, the failure reoccurred. The contact had not taken the vehicle back to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,935.
Today we bought a new 2019 Jeep Cherokee VIN [xxx] from quirk dealership in braintree MA. The car stalled 100 feet from the dealership leaving the lot - no ability to steer all systems died. These cars need to be recalled, very scary in traffic with no ability to move. This is not the first complaints I have seen, please help the consumer by recalling these vehicles.
