But the problem could possibly be related to the increasingly defective 9-speed transmission which suffers from hard shifts, lurching problems, and a wiring harness defect that can cause sudden shutdowns or an unexpected shift into neutral.

2019 Jeep Cherokee Trail Hawk. On trip home, RPM exceeded (Per on board report), loud noise from behind/under steering wheel area, vehicle lost power to transmission, lots of grinding and engine revving due to the cruise being used when the PTU died. Had to be towed to a local dealer. Jeep is still sitting in another state than where I live with no resolution from Jeep. It is a warranty covered part and confirmed by dealership it is the PTU. Jeep Customer Care is a joke as it took 8 weeks for rental reimbursement agreement and have still not received the first check. I am out of pocket 700 per week for rental car. Communication from Customer care is limited and disjointed.
