CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2019 Cherokee is racking up engine complaints for suddenly shutting down while driving. But the problem could possibly be related to the increasingly defective 9-speed transmission which suffers from hard shifts, lurching problems, and a wiring harness defect that can cause sudden shutdowns or an unexpected shift into neutral.
I drove my new Jeep Cherokee (111 miles on it) off the Dealer's lot last Monday, and immediately noticed the brakes did not feel "normal."
I called and emailed the Salesman that night regarding the Service Department (did they have a loaner, etc.). Never received a reply.
I "chatted" with someone on the Dealer's website on Monday and again, no reply.
I finally called Service and set an appointment for yesterday - turns out they had to replace ALL 4 rotors. When asked what the root cause could be, the Service adviser first indicated "Lot Rot," and when I questioned him the reply was "or, it could have been a batch of bad rotors.
Really? I don't find either cause to be tolerable on a brand new vehicle.
Sorry to you people who are having the prolonged stopping and loud ringing when phone calls come in. Also navigation display stops working and you must restart your car for it to work. I also get a strong jerk or kick when coming to a stop. I've been to 5 dealers and problems can't be duplicated, so it can't be fixed. This means (no fix). Looks like we live with the problems.
