Shortly after I get gas the vehicle will go from drive to idle and a warning message will pop up that says I need to shift to park. This has happened while waiting to take a left at lights and sometimes as soon as I go to pull out of the gas station.

Takata recall my 2016 Jeep Cherokee will shut off while in motion. The car died while going through an intersection. I was able to coast into a safe place, but car would not restart again after for a few hours. My husband was driving the car and came to a stop at an intersection when the car died again. The car started rolling backwards and he almost hit the car behind him. This is not safe. We have a one month old child, and I do not feel safe putting her in the car.

Beside steering, everything else stopped working. Thank god, I was next to emergency line. I only got 30 second to get out high speed traffic road.

When driving in the mountains of West virginian having the cruise control set to 70 everything works fine until you come to a steep down hill grade. Suddenly I would look down and I would be doing 90 miles a hour and the engine RPM is over 5000. This happened 4 times. 3 times I would just touch the brake and the engine RPM would immediately go down to around 2000 RPM. One time I hade to stand on the brakes for several seconds until the RPM would go down. I almost lost control of the car one time. My son drove through the mountains on our way to the East coast and I drove through them on the way home. He told me the same thing happened to him several times. I have had the car for just over 2 years and the cruise control works fine. The only time I have problems is in the mountains on a down hill road.

My vehicle stalls while driving; on the expressway, after a car wash, in the school parking lot. This is very dangerous!! it happened 3 times during rush hour traffic on a Friday night. Online complaints are plentiful...this needs to be addressed, someone is going to be seriously hurt!! currently at the shop, they cannot figure out what the issue is. This has happened on numerous occasions.

A service shifter light has been an ongoing issue. We had it serviced once. What happens is the light comes on and all gears are lit up as to say you're in all gears P, R, N, D....etc. The car at times won't pick up speed right away and also pauses when shifting gears.

While driving on the freeway an engine warning light appeared on the dash with the message "service transmission" and my speed immediately dropped and I was unable to accelerate to move out of the way of oncoming vehicles. I was barely able to pull the car over. Once stopped the message went away and acceleration was restored, but message occurred again and power was again lost.

When driving at a speed of 70 mph the service transmission light comes on, disabling acceleration and putting the car into 8th gear. This causes a dangerous situation where the car speed decreases instantly and requires the car to pulled over to the side of road and turn the car off then on. Chrysler is well aware of this issue but has not issued a recall for these vehicles. Instead they choose to put customers in the dangerous situation of disabling a vehicle at high speeds.

I have had transmission issues since buying the vehicle. I have been to the dealer about 3 or 4 times to have the issue fixed and it was never fixed. Low power, hesitations in acceleration, randomly dropping speed while acceleration, and complete loss of power. It happens when in motion at all speeds but mostly at speeds under 40 mph. It all continues to this day and I have all but given up on getting Chrysler to take responsibility. I am sometimes even afraid to drive the vehicle when one or more of these symptoms happens. Chrysler needs to take responsibility. As a consumer I am entitled to get what I pay for!

My Jeep has been having a disturbing problem with the cruise control for months. Periodically, cruise control accelerates on its own way above what it's set at (e.g. it's set at 75 mph on the highway and suddenly it accelerates to 95 mph). I have to slam the brakes until it decelerates and reset the cruise control. When I was setting up my routine oil change appointment on the lithia app, I noticed a recall that was exactly for the problem I was having. But my Jeep was not included on the recall. I called 1-800-853-1403 on 7/24/18 and was told my Jeep was not on the recall list but to ask for diagnostics test for U63. At my appointment, 8/10/18, at lithia Santa Fe, the diagnostics didn't show anything. I had to pay $157 for the test! I called the 800 number again and told them I want to go on record that I reported the problem and tried to have it addressed in case I have an accident related to it. The technician told me they 'cleared the module' and that might take care of it. I don't think I should have had to pay for the diagnostics and I think this should be remedied under the recall.

As of lately, the speedometer toogles up & down through a set of numbers even after attempts are made to reduce speed especially when on cruise control. During cruise control vehicle accelerates beyond set limit & requires extreme force to decelerate. It happens randomly as does many dangerous issues mainly after a software update takes place with the vehicle. If the updates don't cause acceleration concerns it causes vehicle to shut off in traffic & over the last several months a few high risks for major traffic accidents were only avoided by the swift maneuvering of other vehicles or myself when possible to avoid collision. Never before experienced so many malfunctions of mechanical/technological problems from a vehicle. As for if the vehicle was stationary, in motion, on a city street or a highway, turning, braking etc when these issues occured the answer would be my Jeep has stalled, loss speed, shut off and/or speed up under all these conditions. Dealership has me bring it in and they flash the system to "correct" the problem. That is until the next update or some software malfunction causes unexpected scary incident to arise like now with the cruise control that needs addressing.

Takata recall: I bought the car in June of 2016. Two months later I went into the dealer to complain about my car shaking and the accelerator how my car feels as if it's shifting gears. They take my car to check and told me they can not duplicate the issue so I received my car back. Then during the summer once again in 2017 the car was shaking very bad dealer was on strike so I had to go to another Jeep dealer. They 'solved' the shaking and mentioned to me I possibly need a new engine. I haven't received any contact back from them for that new engine. My car again still shakes and feels as if it is shifting on its own. It's turned off on me quite a few times as well. On the express way in the city in the streets. I just took it back again this year a couple weeks ago in June 2018 and again I get the I can't duplicate the issue. So I'm stuck trying to figure out how to get my issue solved. Vehicle is always in motion when shaking and shifting happens. Vehicle is at a stop when car turns off.

My vehicle was on cruise control at 55 mph and during a downhill slope, the vehicle accelerated and rpms jumped to 6-8,000. I could not get the cruise control to shutoff and stop acceleration. I almost hit the car in front of me. Has happened twice now. I have also had it lurch forward at stop signs when taking off.

On several different occasions now, after accelerating from a complete stop the car will start to accelerate and then it'll no longer respond to pressing down the accelerator. The engine does not rev and no speed is gained as the car continues to coast. I have been able to remedy it by shifting into neutral and back into drive. No warning lights or indicators appear signaling an issue. This typically happens on city streets after exiting the highway and has occurred when going straight from a stop, or while making a turn after a complete stop. Car currently has less than 35,000 miles. Has not been taken to any dealership, since there has been no indication of failure.

While driving the car on 2 separate occasions, the car died while in motion. The first time, I was leaving church and made a left turn. The car stalled and I was able to move out of the way of traffic onto the shoulder of the road. I put the vehicle in park and started it up a couple of times and was able to go. The second time (today), I turned into a parking lot and it just killed. I put the vehicle in park and then started the car again and moved on. Fortunately, both times, I was able to safely address this. Who knows what will happen the next time? this first happened the 4th Sunday in may of 2018 and the second time, June 10, 2018.

My Jeep Cherokee sport 2016 got stuck in a gear and would not shift. The service transmission light came on and the gas pedal would not do anything. It happened 5 times on my way home from a road trip and was very dangerous. The Jeep apparently needs a software update and I believe I shouldn't have to pay for that. The vehicle only has 30K miles on it.

The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. While driving up a hill, the vehicle stalled and the battery indicator illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart after a few minutes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (century Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, 13500 veterans memorial pkwy, wentzville, mo 63385), but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 27,000.

While using cruise control, traveling down a moderately steep hill, the speed would not remain constant and the engine would actually engage to accelerate the vehicle rather than govern the speed at the mph setpoint, without having my foot on the throttle. The tachometer would show the engine rev increase and you could hear the engine as well when this happened. Obviously a very dangerous situation. Took the vehicle to the dealer and was told the car and cruise control were operating as designed!

1) car stalls at random without warning and no apparent cause. I've had the car stall at low speeds after turning (able to restart) but most significantly an incident occurring 7/9/2017 when I lost all acceleration on the interstate at 65mph while towing a 3500lb trailer. The tachometer and speedodometer dropped immediately to zero. Total shutdown. Concurrently all the electronics shutdown, including power brakes. Thankfully I was on a flat stretch of road and was able to drift into the breakdown lane. The car would not restart; no electrical components with the exception of the hazard lights and emergency brake were functioning. Car had to be towed. 3) cruise control fails to maintain car speed on moderate downgrades...RPM's will shoot to 5000, then car will "take off" increasing speed by as much as 15 mph more than control is set for. My complaints have been verified/replicated by a Jeep Chrysler service center but they have stated they can't fix the car because they do not know what is causing the issue.
