The outside body of the vehicle is leaking, which is causing the Park break module to short circuit. This is causing my vehicle to suddenly stop and lock up.This has happened three times so far.
Water leak on front passenger door floor coming out of cabin filter area. Concerned that it will cause rotting of floorboard body of vehicle. Dealer cleaned out plug but that did not fix the problem. Dealer does not know how to fix it. Read on several forums that this is a problem with other Jeep owners.
The power liftgate stopped working. This is the exact issue described in the 23V-338 / 49A Recall. The year, make, and model of my car are the same as detailed in the recall, but this specific VIN is not included. The issue is due to an electrical short that poses a fire hazard. There is no manual way to open the liftgate, it completely relies on the functionality of the electric system. It is clear that the 23V-338 / 49A Recall should include a wider range of VINs including mine.
Automatic trunk does not open with either inside button on dash or outside button on latch. So I had to open it manually. While it was up the motor spontaneously activated, causing the trunk lid to hit me on the head. When it did hit my head, it did not automatically go back up. The issue is intermittent and when I took it to the dealer, they could not replicate it. This has happened several times.

Within 7 months of buying this car from a dealership, the 4WD says unavailable, the wiper sprayer broke while I was driving and I had to pull over because I couldn't spray my window on a snow-melting, messy day. Then the driver's side wiper broke while driving in torrent rains where I almost got run over by a semi-truck on the highway for having to pull over. The mud flaps continue to rip causing mud and ice to build up behind the tires. In 15-below weather, I went to start my car to go to work and when I turned the heat higher than 4 (out of 7), it made a loud, vibrating sound until I turned it back down, so I was very cold all the way to work. The next day it worked fine. The day after that, I went out to start my car again to go to work, it was 15-below still, and I had no heater blower at all. I had no heat. I could not drive due to that, had to have my car towed to a shop, and ended up calling in sick at work, which jeopardized my brand new employee status.
I received a notification a few times saying service transmission. The light would stay on for a day then go away. Upon the third time or receiving this message I noticed my car started shifting hard while accelerating. I had someone check my codes and I received 3 codes. B10E9, B10ea, and P1db7. I have read so many similar problems with this vehicle and I noticed my VIN is not on the recall list. I only had this car for 2 months before I got any of these messages and started having these issues. I can't afford to fix this at the moment and it's really stressful trying to figure out what is wrong with my car. Its very dangerous to drive. Please help.
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated the leather on the dashboard started to loosen on the passenger's side and continued to the driver's side. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 10,000.
The two front airbags did not deploy. We was hit into a cement divider on freeway while going 65to 70 mph. Flipped rolled 5to6 times on all sides of car landed on the top and the front airbags did not deploy. Causing injury to driver and passenger
Rear latch would not close. Actually opened while driving. If slammed enough finally closes but couldn't open for risk of not closing. Sensors read an open door. After waiting 3 months for part eventually battery issues.
On July 18, 2018 I went outside to get an item out of back of my vehicle which was stationary and I couldn't get liftgate to lift and I noticed there was smoke in my car, I opened the drivers side door and smoke billowed out. After a few minutes, I got in the vehicle and moved it back away from my house and noticed I had no A/C, radio or anything working on dashboard. I looked in back of vehicle and it was burnt in the back left corner of lift gate. I immediately called my insurance company and they had it towed to mike smith auto group in beaumont. The smell in the vehicle was awful, a combination of burnt rubber and plastic. There was a recall on this vehicle for back left liftgate in 2015 of which I took it in and supposedly it was repaired. I also immediately called the dealership of which they were no help at all and very unconcerned. I talked to my insurance company and they said if it was due to a recall I should call Chrysler corporation of which I did daily with no results. They would not let me talk to anyone, they finally sent an inspector of which he just looked at the inside of car, did not take the panels off or anything and sent to the corporation and they sent me a letter stating it was not due to recall. My insurance company sent an engineer who took the panel off and searched it thoroughly and determined it was due to the recall. I cannot get any help on this which is not my fault.
I came out of my drive way and started down the road (35mph) and all of a sudden without any indication my panoramic sunroof exploded and shattered all over the car. There were no other vehicles on this road, the road was paved with no potholes. The temperature was anywhere between 55-65 and the inside of the Jeep was at a controlled temperature.
Window would not go down when the switch was pushed. Later while driving window started sliding down by itself. Dealership claimed the return was broken and 2" of the bottom of the window was broke off. No accident or damage had been done to the door. Breakage seems to be consistent with earlier Jeep models. Dealership would not cover repair and changed over $900 to repair.
Seams underneath the vehicle were not properly sealed at the factory, which resulted in half inch to an inch of standing water on the front and back floor boards on the passenger side of the vehicle. The car now smells like a musty moldy basement. As of today's date 8/25/17 the dealership has attempted to fix our car twice, but we anticipate needing to go back for a third time.
Trunk door automatically closed after being opened to place item in trunk and failed to reverse itself after closing on wife's head. Caused laceration to forehead after trunk door hit her head and continued to crush into her. Had to rush to emergency room due to size of cut and bleeding. The vehicle was parked during the incident.
Car started to smell musty/moldy 8 weeks after I purchased it (brand new). Found the passenger floor carpet to be wet and water was draining out of the drain hole near the passenger rear door. Upon multiple trips to the dealer, the carpeting was pulled back and it was determined that a seam in the front right wheel well was never welded at the factory. This open seam was allowing water to dump into my car for 4 months. My and my families health has been affected (sore throat, cough and headache when in the car) by the mold in the car. The smell is horrific and can actually be smelled walking near the car without doors being opened. The dealer has stated he has never smelled a car like this. This brand new car is destroyed. Carpeting in the car has been replaced. Smell is just as bad. An air bag sensor had to be replaced, most likely caused by water damage. Wiring that runs under the carpeting had been soaked for 4 months....can't imagine what long term damage I will encounter. The car is still there, now they are pulling the spray foam out of the rocker panels piece by piece. They said the smell inside the foam is unbelievable. There is no way they will be able to remove the smell completely from this car. I can provide all service records if required. I have been without my car for a total of 31 days in between early February and today (I still don't have it back). It has been to the dealer 4 or 5 times now for the same issue.
