Bought NEW 2015 Jeep Cherokee Latitude April 2, 2015
August 2015 - notice a lot of road noise coming from the rear of Jeep
Sept 2015 - took 3 weeks to get in for service: dropped Jeep off on a Wednesday at 3p and picked up Friday at noon
Service Department couldn't find anything wrong with the tires however recommended I replace all 4 tires (with 14,000 on the new tires) at a total cost of over $800. One tire has significant tire tread wear. (scratching my head) Service department claimed it was lack of rotation...just one tire - not two.
Tires under warranty - Firestone prorated my tires and ordered 4 new tires.
Firestone installed new tires and also FOUND THE PROBLEM!
3 tires were 65s whereas one of the rear tires (with the significant tread wear) was a 60. Not only was this tire smaller but it also had a mismatch rim. Firestone put my Jeep on the lift and showed me the trailing arm had been replaced as well. Firestone stated that if there was an issue with the trailing arm during production, it would have been replaced prior to leaving the line. Was this NEW Jeep in a crash and had the trailing arm replaced as a result and a tire changed out?
Contacted Chrysler - the dealership hasn't communicated anything with Chrysler how this Jeep could be sold to me. If the dealership isn't communicating with Chrysler - they sure as hell won't deal with me. Chrysler confirmed there were no recalls on this Jeep's trailing arm either. Chrysler seems to be pushing this under the rug now as I'm not dealing with transmission issues on this Jeep.
What could be wrong in the future with the braking system? 4 wheel drive? Rear differential? I'm out close to $700 out of pocket
