CarComplaints.com Notes: How many transmission complaints can a new vehicle really receive? You'd be surprised. Unless you're a 2015 Cherokee owner, then I bet you're not surprised at all.
Another in the long list of Jeep Cherokee transmission/driveline problems. Since new, my Cherokee has had a high pitched whine coming from the transmission/transfer case/driveline. (The sound is similar to the fuel pump whine in many older GM SUVs shortly before it fails.)
I took it into the dealer I purchased it from at about 1,000 miles. Was told this is a 'normal sound'. I protested... to no avail. After another try at my selling dealer, I gave up and had it inspected at another Denver Jeep dealer.
This dealership told me I definitely had a problem and proceeded to attempt repairs on two occasions. Nothing they tried worked... They then told me that Chrysler is aware of this defect and is working on a 'fix'. This was three months ago... I've called back and am told that there is still no solution to this obnoxious noise. I now have almost 8,000 miles on this vehicle and must turn up the radio to drown out the whine. Most frustrating... and I suspect the noise will never be fixed before the Cherokee goes out of warranty (unless I get rid of it first).
I should have listened to those who told me NEVER buy a Jeep because they have the WORST reliability record in the industry!!!
