I have a 2015 Jeep Trail hawk which I have loved until the past month. The power steering started to go out whenever you would hit a bump. When I would restart the car the problem would mysteriously disappear. The dealership could pull that the problem had been there but since there were no active codes they could not diagnose the problem. It was in the shop for a week and they could not replicate the issue. I got it back and it failed again before I got home but like before when I shut off the car it went back to normal. It finally failed completely and back to the shop it went. It has been there for 3 weeks and I just found out that the power steering assist motor has an internal fail issue. I have Chrysler Cares involved but the part is out of stock. They are trying to find it but it could take up to another month.
Update from Sep 25, 2018: It took 2 months to complete the repair. I think that the problem should have been taken care of faster but maybe that is just me being impatient. Chrysler did cover the repair so I had no out of pocket expense. My jeep seems to be running fine but I don't know if I will buy another jeep product because of all the issues they seem to be having.
