Cherokee Latitude 3.2L V6 24 Valvue4 4 X 4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 21,000 miles

I have not given them this vehicle yet. I was going to ignore it because I am so sick of hearing them say there is nothing wrong.. Can't ignore it because of my next 2 complaints.

Anyhow had been in the mountains for about 2 weeks and got in the Jeep, went to get a few things. Got back in the vehicle and I could not get it barely to 45 mph I would push down on the gas and it would jerk back as if it was locked. Not bad gas since I was just over a 1/4 and was going to get gas. I was so mad I tried as hard as I could to put the gas pedal to the floor. I know I will hear there is nothing wrong with it.

I stopped at a store just to turn it off walk away from it for 15/20 minutes. Got back in started it up and it had cleared itself.

But now I do not have the power sometimes, I go to push on the gas and you can tell it is hesitating. I should have to push that hard on the gas to get this jeep to perform, at least other than when I was at a dead stop, I never had to before.

problem #2

Jun 122015

Cherokee Limited

  • Automatic transmission
  • 9,000 miles

Bought this car new in January 2015. No real issues noted until June 2015 (after recalls had been fixed) when it had no power going up a steep incline. Several weeks later check engine light came on and start/stop unavailable. Took into dealer who reported needed a new transmission. Car was in the shop 3 weeks before we finally got it back.

I could tell immediately the transmission wasn't right. No acceleration when taking off from a stop. I have been almost T-boned on numerous occasions by pulling out to make a turn and having no power. Car also accelerates and RPMs rev up when applying the brakes. Took car back into dealer, they could not replicate the problem. Continued to have the same issues. I was scared to continue driving it.

Took back into dealer who put a recording device on the vehicle. When it acted up I hit a recording button to capture what the car was doing at the time I noticed the issue. Dealer downloaded the information and just called my husband to state car needed another new transmission! I am done with this car. Hopefully it will qualify under the lemon law in Ohio and we can get our money back. I will never buy another Chrysler product. These cars are dangerous and need to be recalled. Are they waiting until someone dies? I have told my husband that if I am in an accident where it looks as if I pulled out in front of someone and got hit, to sue Chrysler!

problem #1

Cherokee Sport 4x4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70 miles

A couple of days after I bought my 2015 Jeep Cherokee with the I4 engine, I noticed that it was really slow with acceleration when merging onto a freeway. I did get a computer program upgrade on the powertrain recall, but it didn't make a difference. When I took my Cherokee into the service station for Uconnect issues, I mentioned the slow acceleration and was told "You have a new engine it needs time to break-in." It's been 10 weeks now (4/15/15) and with 1,768 miles on it I'd say my engine is broken in. There are some freeway exits I avoid because my Jeep just does not accelerate fast enough to merge safely with freeway traffic.

I really don't know if this is an engine or powertrain concern as there is nothing I can point to and say, "That's the problem!" My Cherokee runs smooth and there are no obvious issues except it just does not accelerate fast enough for me to merge with freeway traffic...unless it's a long on-ramp. I will report my concern to the manufacture but don't know what can be done about this.

Update from May 7, 2015: Update as of 5/6/15: My problem was transmission. It was slipping not shifting from 1st-3rd. Dealer did another software update (makes 4 now). I've given up hope.
