The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. While driving, the vehicle had difficulty shifting into the next gear and the rpms suddenly increased. The contact stated that the vehicle tended to overheat and the coolant burned off although there were no visible leaks. In addition, the transmission warning indicator illuminated and the overheating indicator notified the driver to turn off the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to bob moore Chrysler Ram Dodge Jeep (4627 S memorial dr, tulsa, ok 74145, 918-663-6343), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 87,000.
I was driving on interstate and stepped on brakes because cars were slowing down when I began to brake the engine shut off. Message said shift to park and start engine. Cars were honking. I did what it read and it took seconds but turned back on. It took some explaining to the dealership after my personal research in waiting room for 4 hours. They found the codes"? it happened again but more seriously on a toad with traffic moving I stepped on brakes to make a left turn but it turned off! cars slammed on their brakes. I did what message said it took longer this time. I pulled into a parking lot and it turned off again when I stepped on brakes to park. I can't get a dealership to help me?" tomorrow I'm going back to the original service department that found the codes in January. This is scary.
Power train/engine recall. I brought my vehicle to the dealership to let them know my vehicle accelerated when I applied my brakes and it does this all the time. They said it was some module that needed to be adjusted or updated and the problem was not fixed. The problem is not fixed and it just the other night while driving down the road I applied my brakes because a car pulled out in front of me and the Jeep lunged forward then slowed down. This is an ongoing issue amongst others with Jeep Cherokee because I have asked my neighbor and others ive met with Jeep Cherokee's and they have all mentioned this happens to them as well. It is in the Jeep forums, why is this issue not fixed, to be honest I don't feel safe driving my vehicle. I'm in the military and have to drive over 60 miles per day to and from work and this is unacceptable. It happens pretty much every time I drive the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. While driving 45 mph, the vehicle lost power, decelerated, and the contact lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle decelerated and accelerated multiple times. After a while, the transmission remained stuck in drive and the check engine and traction control warning indicators illuminated. Also, "service transmission", "service ABS", and "service shifter" were displayed. The contact drove the vehicle to gulf coast Chrysler Jeep (3781 S mckenzie St, foley, al 36535, (251) 943-5075) where a diagnostic appointment was scheduled. The vehicle was in the process of being diagnosed and repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 24,000. The VIN was unknown.
My vehicle was parked in the garage and was turned off. I was placing laundry in the washer right by the garage. All of the sudden the vehicle started. I would not have known it had started if the engine had not been racing and I was only separated from it by the laundry room to garage door. I suspect the engine started when something in my pocket pressed on the key fob. This is very dangerous. It appears that the key fob isn't designed correctly, the key on the key fob that will start the vehicle should be depressed so items in ones pockets can't press the key that's used to start the engine. This needs to be corrected either through disabling the remote start or providing a key fob that won't allow this dangerous condition to occur. The vehicle was stationary turned off in my garage when it started.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle overheated and stalled in heavy traffic. Bettenhausen Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (8355 w 159th St, tinley park, il 60477, (708) 532-2665) stated that a loaner vehicle was not an option. South oak Jeep Dodge Chrysler Ram (4550 Lincoln hwy, matteson, il 60443, (708) 747-7950) indicated that the repair was covered by a power train warranty to service the engine. The manufacturer later stated that the failure was due to user error. The dealer indicated that the engine assembly needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified and did not state if the power train warranty would cover the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 94,000.
When I start the vehicle it revs high and when I take off it jumps/hesitates. As I am driving, the warning bell will "ding" a warning and the engine just cuts off. Message on dash tells me I am unable to shift and must put car in park to shift. I am unable to accelerate or turn my steering wheel and at a complete stop. Also as I make a turn at a stop light, the warning "ding" will happen and no message is displayed on dash. These problems have occurred while the car is "in motion"! not stopped!
My 2015 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk when starting the vehicle or driving the red lights on the shifter will all turn on and the instrument cluster with display a service shifter screen. Sometimes when the vehicle is parked I can shut off the car and turn the car back on and reset other times will it reset.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. When the contact parked the vehicle, it failed to restart. When the contact made another attempt, the vehicle restarted. The failure occurred several times. The contact also stated that when the vehicle was in any gear, it jerked and made a loud noise. Also, the transmission indicator blinked on and off. On another occasion, when the vehicle was started, the rpms increased very high without the accelerator pedal being pressed. Jim browne Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of dade city (12020 us-301, dade city, fl 33525, (352) 353-0704) advised that the vehicle be brought in for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer agreed with the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 50,000.
Engine was completely replaced, also the ac compressor broke right after the engine was replaced. There has been recalls on 75K other Jeep Cherokee, same year.
Car stalling at low speed and also at stop. Takes several attempts to get moving again. Went in for service and car virtually out of oil. Was not even close to needing an oil change. Less than every 1000 miles there is an oil loss of atleast a quart needing to be added at oil consumption test. Extremely dangerous to drive and any type of resolution feels worlds away when our safety is jeopardized.
The 2015 Jeep Cherokee latitude 44..shut down in moving traffic.dash stated to put car in park to shift gear.vehicle was already in gear.vehicle started back up and I made it to a gas station where it shut down at the pump.vehicle had to be towed to the dealer. This is the third time since I purchased the vehicle it had to be towed for shutting down in motion. I bought the car brand new in may of 2015. Has 51K miles on it now. Also it shifts iraticly. The cruise control accelerates on it's own. Something must be did one or people will get hurt.
Air conditioning suction/discharge hose split and blew off the engine causing loss of air conditioning cooling while in motion on the highway. Recall #R57 clearly shows a recall for this hose being placed too close to the manifold and posing a fire risk or air conditioning loss or warning light. Chrysler states this VIN is not included in the recall although it states 2015 Jeep Cherokee vehicles are affected and this model is in fact a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. We would like to request to be considered for a reimbursement for this repair. Although we feel our previous repair in may of 2018 was also related to this same recall we would like to be considered.
The engine loses large amount of oil causing the car air flow system to malfunction. The car completely shutdown while driving because the car needs oil and ecs warning blinks. However, the car oil indicator doesn't recognize the car needs oil. This same identical situation has happen multiple time, starting about 1 year after I purchased the SUV in September 2015. Every time I have taken the car to the dealership, it has been noted in the record. However, this time, the automobile tech inform me of the problem with car and noted that Jeep is aware of this issue with the 2.4L 4 cylinder engines. Those particular engines are also in the Chrysler 200.
Driving along with vehicle in motion, the engine stalls out and continues to roll, but does not operate. Car must come to a complete stop, rest and then try to restart - very dangerous on the highway. A message comes on stating "vehicle must be in gear to shift" or something close to that - but there has been no shifting on my part at all. This stalling has put me in very dangerous conditions because cars coming from behind and around me have no warning of the stalled out engine either. It takes about 3 or 4 minutes to restart the engine. Dealership says this is an oil consumption issue and its something to do with the pistons. Another Jeep service manager said the engine needs to be replaced. Its still under warranty. I fear that we're going to get hit (my daughter and I) and meanwhile, we do not have other transportation and I'm going to be paying on this for 4 more years. There is a lot of information on other people having the same complaints on the internet. For now, the dealership is doing an oil consumption test which is related to the engine problems known on other vehicles. With this many people having the same problem, this should be a recalled engine.
Since purchasing the vehicle, a Jeep Cherokee latitude is has shown these errors consistently. Examples: The vehicle decelerates when pushed to accelerate quickly, especially when turning. It shifts hard between gears when driving, causing a jerking motion within the car - even when gently accelerating. On one occasion it has shifting into neutral while driving on the highway, which caused the vehicle to completely stop functioning. More recently, I was rear-ended at a gas station and was unaware, because I thought it was my car jerking forward upon acceleration. When reversing, the vehicle jerks backwards - after a delay. The vehicle also delays when attempting to turn the vehicle on.
Burn of oil at roughly a qt per 1000 miles, less than recommended oil change mileage. Effects engine. Shuts engine off while driving and takes 3-5 minutes before car can start again. Very dangerous as it happens at any speeds and car completely locks up.
